More than a third of the 30 million Peruvians are connected to the internet, and this number is expected to double by 2019. Peru has 76 per cent mobile phone penetration, and an emerging group of urban smartphone users, with penetration at 17 per cent in 2013.

Peru’s eCommerce industry represents a relatively small 1.5 per cent of the entire Latin American market. Online sales reached 800 million US dollars in 2013.

To generate greater online usage, companies are educating consumers on the online retail journey and are increasingly driving offline traffic to websites and social media pages via advertising.
