Mobile music in Africa and Latin America
Millicom scored its first of many music-related hits in 2013 when it launched Tigo Music.
In doing so, we became the first to offer mobile customers in Africa and Latin America access to a unique catalogue of more than 36 million songs.
The Tigo Music brand has since established itself as the major sponsor for key music events and festivals in our markets, as well as hosting recording studios used by leading Latin American artists. Grammy Award winning artist Juanes is one of several rock musicians to have joined Tigo Music in the studio for exclusive recording sessions.
In Colombia, Tigo Music has grown into the most popular and largest music streaming service.
Our plan is to keep the Tigo Music brand as close to our customers as possible. We know there is demand for more localised choices in music and we aim to give them the songs they want to listen to as well as to nurture and promote more home-grown talent alongside more mainstream musical tastes.
